Kataklysm announce new album Goliath + release new single ‘Bringer Of Vengeance’
19. May 2023
For almost 3 decades, the US/French Canadian-based melodic death metal syndicate KATAKLYSM has delivered unapologetic waves of powerful sound across the entire globe. On August 11th, 2023 the band’s 15th full-length studio album Goliath will be unleashed unto the masses via Nuclear Blast Records.
- Dark Wings Of Deception
- Die As A King
- Bringer Of Vengeance
- From The Land Of The Living To The Land Of The Dead
- The Redeemer
- Heroes To Villains
- Gravestones & Coffins
- The Sacrifice For Truth
‘Bringer Of Vengeance’ is the first single from the album. The song opens with drop-tune guitars and takes the listener on a journey mashing together modern Metal and Djent components that are layered over the traditional KATAKLYSM sound.
Maurizio Iacono comments:
“Our new album Goliath comes at a time in our society where division and hate are growing and spreading on a worldwide basis, where ideologies on how the future should be for humanity is colliding, This is also a time of unprecedented power structures fighting for the control of our lives, the story of David vs Goliath has never been more important than these modern times, Metal has always been a voice of rebellion against oppression and for the protection of our freedoms, the album also touches on inner conflict and doing what needs to be done to confront your inner demons.
“The ‘Bringer of Vengeance’ single’s main idea is about a carefully and patiently plotted revenge. The song is inspired by the events surrounding the assassination of King Richard I ‘The Lionheart’ and the idea that it might take time but, one day justice will always be served”.

Anders Odden comments:
“We began working on The Age of the Offended during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021. We aimed to push the boundaries of our music adding all the flavors we like in the mix. We rejoined forces with Eilert Solstad, the bass player from …In Pains as well as guitar wizard, Ronni Le Tekrø. This collaboration led to an album that sounds out of this world and sends our music into the stratosphere. The theme, The Age Of The Offended, is a node to the times we live in. The chaos, conflicts, and turmoil of the human condition will never stop inspiring us. The title track reflects this vision by pointing to the zeitgeist and works as the perfect soundtrack to the current post-apocalyptic world.”

Eleine – unleash official video for their darkest song, ‘War Das Alles’
18. May 2023
Swedish dark symphonic metal powerhouse ELEINE are currently setting the stages on fire as support band of the current MOONSPELL North American tour and today, the unceasing band have unveiled one of the most special songs taken from their upcoming album »We Shall Remain« which will be released on July 14, 2023 via Atomic Fire Records.
- Never Forget
- Stand by the Flame
- We Are Legion
- Promise of Apocalypse
- Blood in Their Eyes
- Through the Mist
- War das alles
- We Shall Remain
‘War Das Alles’ (German for ‘Was this all?’) was written in one of the darkest hours. This German poem by front-woman Madeleine Liljestam translates into one of the most touching and intimate moments on the album.
“It all started with a poem in English, that made more sense in German and ‘War Das Alles’ came to life. In the midst of darkness, you might question yourself – was this all? Am I no more? It’s a natural question when going through something that’s too heavy for your shoulders.
Before things get better – it will be heavier for a while. Whether it’s depression, a difficult task at work or a relationship… it usually gets heavier right before you reach the goal.
With this single, we want to highlight that these thoughts and feelings sometimes enter your life, and that it doesn’t mean it’s the end. It’s a part of something better to come. Balance within life.
Feel that you are accepted as you are with this song, that you are not alone. Embrace the very special feeling and atmosphere this chorus brings – and tomorrow might feel a bit brighter with the entire ELEINE legions supporting you,” they comment.

Lancer – reveal first details and the cover artwork of their new studio album “Tempest”
17. May 2023
Swedish Heavy Metal commando LANCER have completed the recordings on their fourth, new studio album “Tempest” and signed a new record deal with the new German label Fireflash Records (MEZZROW, TAILGUNNER, HOLY MOSES and others), who will release the album worldwide on August 11th, 2023.
“Tempest” was recorded by the band and Anders Backelin (LORD BELIAL a.o.) at “Armageddon Recordings Studio”, who also mixed and mastered the album along with guitarist Per-Owe Solvelius, who was the main producer of “Tempest”. “It is heavy, it is dramatic and it is a new direction for Lancer’, reveals new vocalist Jack L. Stroem.
This day, LANCER reveal the cover artwork, created by Dimitar Nikolov, who did artworks for ROSS THE BOSS, METAL INQUISITOR, BLIZZEN a.o. in the past.
“I can’t believe it’s been six years since last time we released an album”, says guitarist Fredrik Kelemen and adds: “But with the line-up changes, the pandemic and the intention of making
“Tempest” a great comeback album, we let it take its time. We have developed our sound, it’s a bit darker, especially lyrically. Production-wise, more dynamic and gritty. A bigger picture of sound, with elements we have never used before.
We wanted the artwork of the cover to symbolize this change, with the devastating storm drawing in with the wasteland it creates. We have been known for using birds on our previous album covers, so the demon raven of “Tempest” seemed only natural, and the title is just a more epic and stronger word for storm, in my opinion.
Overall I want to use the most well-known cliche of all time: this is the best album we have done so far! And it’s totally true, all jokes aside. We are absolutely thrilled to release it to the world!”
The first single of the album will be called “Fan The Flames”, released on June 2nd along with the album pre-sale start.
